We remodeled our master bathroom this fall/winter, and I say fall/winter because that's how long it took us to do it! We had a shower pan type shower that we wanted to throw out because we would throw up getting in to it every day; it was so old and icky. So I wanted a tub this time. I opted for the "heavy duty cast iron tub that will last forever", hubby opted for the "this is much
lighter and won't take 6 men to lift it" steel tub. I.won. So in the new
HEAVY tub went, with only 4 men to carry it up nearly 25 stairs in all, down the hall way, turn the corner into the bedroom, turn another corner in to the bathroom and plop it down.
I think I saw some sweat :)BEFORE mmm, its soso

(shower
: Yecchh!)

First we prepped the bathroom by ripping out everything, tile and all, floor and all. If that wasn't hard enough, the next thing was. Pulling up the subfloor that was damaged. It was nailed and glued down, and when particle board is glued down,
it wants to stay there!
(chip, chip,chip,chip,chip,chip...)
and in pops the tub!

A good friend did all the plumbing for us, including moving some pipes so I could have my
"Shampoo box". Wasn't he nice? Roughing in the "shampoo box" wasn't so nice.

Alas, we are on to screwing in the
hardy backer board, after we hauled the
cement board back to the "Depot". Next the tiling. It started out fun, then reality set in and it took two afternoons and an evening to get done. I'm glad we were smart enough to rent a tile cutter. We had tons of cutting to do. Grouting also started out fun and......................well, you know.

Then I dropped the
BOMB.
"Honey, can I put in really, really, reeeealllllly cute beadboard? It'sreallycuteandIwilldoalltheworkanditwillbesoeasyandyouwon'thavetodomuchblahblahblah..."
IS IT NOT CUTE OR WHAT!!

Now, where's my bubble bath?
