Washroom redo...........

I love bead board and wanted to put it in another bathroom.

I will put in vinyl wood plank flooring later on.
The baseboards aren't done yet either, but
this is where it is right now.

You can see the other side of the room in the mirror.

I also plan on making a cute shower curtain. I thought
it would be really easy to do, but
it was a lot of work, and took quite a while; I
always seem to do that to myself. A lot of
"I can do that myself" to "Oz....?? Can you help
me with this?" Good thing he likes me.

Clearly a project overdue!.............

It's obvious why we needed to tear down the
old "TED" (tent/shed = Ted).
It looked good for a while, and lasted about 3 1/2 years,
but the wind got the best of it, and after taping it and fixing
it a whole bunch, it was time to move on.

This before and after will amaze you, and, well, it amazed
us that wecould pull it off!! What a boat load
of work, but worth it, and I got tan arms
and legs to boot!

After about 3 1/2 years she was a goner.....
so we started to unload her. I mean him.

{what a bunch of junk!}

Then the experts were brought in....T.B.Boyce, the cementist.........
along with a couple of missionaries for lots of prayers,
and a neighbor looking on.....

rafters......

roof, or roof, however you want to pronounce it, and siding........

now shingles go on by another set of
experts, the La and Oz team......
{somehow the other "experts" seemed to disappear
to other regions of the globe}

{isn't she a hot mama, and I mean hot. About 100 degrees hot!!}


Too bad we didn't have someone filming us when we finished.
We did a giant dance and yelled "YAHOOOOOO!"
right on top of the roof!!

the sound of a dishwasher running......

an airplane flying overhead on a warm summer day....

hearing the roar of the crowd cheering at the
Cougar Football game
at Martin Stadium on a Saturday afternoon....

the tick of my mom's grandfather clock on a quiet weekday....AND when it chimes....

My mom singing while she cleaned....

a lawn mower humming while the sun shines bright.....

a bird chirping and singing, anytime...........

My Dad................

I know, I can't believe my dad still plays racket ball
at age 94, but he does!

See--proof that I tried to play, too! Although it looks
like we are just walking around!

And maybe a little standing around too--no, wait, I saw us move!

He still has a wicked serve, let me tell ya!!

Dad, thanks for teaching me to play!

Calling all Gardners.................

Do you think anyone will notice?

SIX HOT SPOTS.............

I chose six spots in my house that badly needed attention...

the leftover boxes in the hallway from dejunking.......

the always loved pile of papers on the kitchen counter....

the shoe, coat, fan, bottle with ping pong ball in it,
old cell batteries pile....

the dead plants that have been dead for
two months (or more)....

the nest of computer, foot massager, back massager,
other back massager cords.......

and my favorite, the "to file" pile of papers that never get filed ......

So I bustled around in Grandma Gardner fashion
and whisked away the messes.....

the hallway now looks like this......

the kitchen counter? Okay, it's not all cleared off,

Taylor started to make cookies.....but the papers are gone!

the shoe pile is in the basket and the other things
put away....

the dead plants are in the garbage, and the live plant
got it's leaves washed clean!

the cords are neatly shoved under the couch

(oops, you weren't supposed to know that!)....

and the pile of "to file"? Well, they haven't budged.
Maybe tomorrow. (maybe not)
